Intellectual Property is things that people own that are not tangible. There are four main pieces involving intellectual property patents, trademarks, copyrights and plagiarism. Patents are different inventions that can protect things from other people using them. You can only patent inventions. Patents do always apply as much to issues that the adult industry faces. Most people are concerned about protecting their designs with a patent. Trademark laws are concerned by the adult industry because it protects your product from other products in the market place. It is usually used to make your product look the best from all of the other products. The way things are presented and the façade of different products is mostly all protected under the different trademark. If your trademark is exquisite then your product would be most recognized and remembered by different shoppers in the market place. There are many discrepancies between trademark being an exact replica and being very similar. In order for trademarks to work and be successful you have to keep up with your trademark in order for people to not dilute it.
Plagiarism is defined as pathing off of someone’s ideas as your own. Many people are sued because they are not giving appropriate credit to ones who should receive it. Copyrighting relates because it is giving ones ideas credit. It is closely tied to technology, when printing presses came into play it became more popular and the inventors and authors needed to be protected for their hard work. The DMCA helps to make many things possible over the internet which is awesome. But many different people do not approve of many of the things that the DMCA has to offer. When intellectual property comes into play when relating to the pornographic industry the different ways to protect different sex toys and videos that are not going to be formulated through the government etc.

The many different communities help to determine culture. Different cities approve of different things and there are many different likes and dislikes in different areas. Now since there are so many different things in different communities pornography is treated differently in different areas. As a result of this many different claims have been made against what should and shouldn’t be allowed in these different areas. Cyber space has created different borders that you are able to distinguish on the computer and you can easily see all of the differences between what goes on between different countries. You are able to view how different and how similar the cities are and what commonalities they have with other countries are.
Different people also approve of different things. The pornography industry is becoming very powerful and now different places are not allowing certain things and in order for people to be satisfied they are all willing to pick up and move or change their lifestyle in order to have access to certain types of pornography. Some are so addicted that just changing where they go or crossing over oceans means nothing and it is worth it to them. Now the internet is becoming crazy and huge and there are different filters being created in order to attempt blocking out the porn but obviously the internet is way to big and powerful to block out everything. I feel that yeah all of the different community’s world wide have different views on what is and is not appropriate but the internet is the same everywhere. Every person does have access to the same information and websites.

Boogie’s porn blog is an adult web journal of an adult pornographer. There is a huge selection of porn, nudity and celebrity news. It was really interesting to see how random and explicit the galleries that I was viewing were. Many different people were exposing themselves on this blog, they were looking for company or other solo partners. You could learn and read about many different types of porn movies and other forms of erotica.
This web site was quite interesting it was less like our class blog. Not as much on specific topics but more of a jumble of information. There were ads for sex and other interesting things or just like a movie review. It was like a small chatting type of blog and less large opinions.
I enjoyed that people are just randomly spitting out information that they could totally converse with strangers about. But I guess that real blogging has that effect on people. The blogging that we do in class is more assignment. Many different bloggers have also been using the you tube feature where you can film your self and use real live film as a post. I think that besides being an intense semi porno web blog, I really enjoyed viewing and being exposed to this different type of environment.

Save the children… We are always in need of protecting the children. Different food and beverage labels are and aren’t allowed in certain states and places in order to protect the children. The internet is also becoming a playground for children and we need to work to protect them.
My question for you Mr. Lucas… how do you feel about possibly exposing children and teens to gay and straight porn in schooling? Do you think that it would be positive exposure? Maybe if the children and teens were exposed to this then they wouldn’t be so tempted as to bend over backwards for access? I think that maybe if these things were taught in school it wouldn’t be so tempting. Like Cigarettes and Marijuana for example… they are so tempting to teens that if they were exposed more maybe they wouldn’t be ?

Indecency what does it mean? Cursing in a public place? Wearing inappropriate clothing? Speaking rudely to others? Indecency could mean a lot of different things. It is happening all around us and many different people are becoming exposed to it. In today’s world people feel very free to express themselves and how they feel all the time. Words are thrown around freely and used to represent things that they shouldn’t.
I feel like because the ratings are always weakened and everyone abuses everything that people just feel free to always curse and express themselves freely and they shouldn’t. Every single person is a victim of using indecent language, we are all victims and we always will be. This is the type of thing that is so hard to get out of once you’re in. Yes there are no laws about cursing or anything relating but there are limits that are just know to what is and isn’t appropriate and when.
I know that there is no way for people to stop cursing and using indecent language and exposure. But I know that if parents and teachers start earlier then the children will learn earlier what is and isn’t appropriate. I also know for a fact that actions speak louder then words and if parents and teachers use themselves as examples to the children they are raising then they will admire what they see.

Pornography on the internet has become a major issue. An even bigger issue relating is protecting children from viewing porn. This has become a major problem for the industry. America Online workers are constantly working to update their systems of security so children are unable to view things that are inappropriate. The parents now have to become involved they need to know what is going on with their children and they need to care. It is no ones fault if children are by accidentally exposed to indecency because things happen but we need to find a way to solve this issue and fast. Technology is growing increasingly fast and with the blink of an eye our children will be exposed to terrible things. If we don’t work together fast to solve these issues then bigger problems will arise.
Indecency is becoming a bigger problem then ever. And it isn’t just involving pornography it is involving other things such as language. When children and young adults are exposed to this too fast it creates an unclear boundary of what is and isn’t appropriate at what age. I feel that the first thing that these children need to see is how fast technology is taking over the world. And the faster it takes over the crazier the indecency is going to take over the internet. If everyone works as hard and as efficiently as America Online works to try and set awesome standards and appropriate ways for children and young teens to be able to use and expose themselves to the newest technologies without being exposed to bad things that would be awesome. The internet would become even more popular and it would be an awesome learning experience for the children.

Many would define obscenity differently. Some feel things that should be censored aren’t and others feel that too much is censored. As mentioned in the lecture some say that these kinds of definitions should be specified better. Many different communities are obviously made up of different people. Different people feel differently about what is and isn’t obscene that is where the problems arise. For example people who live in large cities such as New York have different views then someone who lives in
Alabama. Much of this has to do with the types of common interests that people share and how they relate to the other people in their surroundings.
Again this obscenity issue all relates back to the values that people were taught and how they respect themselves. In today’s world peoples views are not reflected as much on their morals and values that they grew up with they are more on their own opinions. People are freer and less tied down. Expressing oneself more could be good and bad, but there is always room for improvement. The world is getting taken over by reality and how things really are so people might as well express themselves.

In evaluating different blogs amongst my peers I found three that I feel are really interesting and they helped me to view some of the subjects that we are learning about in different perspectives. The first blog that I have enjoyed reading was JCerina's blog, I felt that he in corporated a buisness like perspective and showed how the buisness world and the pornography industry work together. Even though JCerina's Blog isn't updated as frequently as I would hope the posts are well worth the wait.

The second blog that I found really interesting to keep up with and read is hnetinka's blog. I feel that while reading over this bloggers opinions I am consistantly seeing that they are interested in the money aspect of how successful one can be in the industry. In comparing that blog to mine I felt that mine was less geared towards different topics and that is why I enjoyed reading this blog.

The last blog that I found interesting to keep up with was cara jill's. Cara Jill speaks about many things that I enjoy reading about and many topics that I feel I would incorporate in my own blog. We have very similar opinions and always use our feminist points of view while stating our opinions.

What is the place of pornography in society? Everything is different in today’s world; the internet provides interaction for the viewers. At what point of interaction does pornography become sex? Cyber sex even? Would this mean that you are cheating?
Is there an engagement between you and the computer? Different people develop different likes and dislikes through pornography which enables them to enjoy a sexual act. These people enjoy being educated and watching for pleasure. There are different roles of interactivity. Ralaeli says when you interact with something there is no immediate response. Some responses are known and expected but most of the time they are unpredictable.
Being interactive is engaging in something active. Becoming involved is ones true own decision. It enables the person who is interactive to express themselves with what they enjoy and what they are good at.

There are many different perspectives on pornography and many think that there is just one feminine persepective, buy there is not. Different women who are in favor of pornography see it as a way for women to express themselves sexually and show that women have some degree of control in the powers of the adult industry. Other feminists see pornography as expressions of male domination and the exploitation of women. Which some say when women get themselves involved in this type of engagement they will not be able to engage themselves socially later on.
Morgans article created two different types of opinions relating to this subject. Morgan himself sees this as rape and a very explicit form of acting. Morgan feels that rape extends way beyond the general definition and feels that rape is such violence against women and it permeates culture. Throughout this article Morgan did an excellent job drawing the line between what was pornography and what was just pure erotica. I feel that there are no real definitions for pornography and erotica and everyone has thier own ideas about what is not appropriate.
